Create an Equipment Component and Save to Components Center

Component Center option has been enabled in the Options dialog.
  1. Open the Equipment Manager and select the Create/Modify Equipment tab.
  2. Select the New > Cell Based option from the toolbar.
  3. In the Equipment Properties section enter a value in the Descr field.
    The Descr property will be mapped to a Category name for the Component in Components Center. You can have multiple components with the same category name.

  4. Click Browse button next to the 2D cell field to display the Cell Selection dialog.
  5. Click the Browse icon next to the Cell Library field and select the library where the equipment cell is located.
  6. Next select the equipment Cell from the drop down list and click OK to close the dialog.
  7. Repeat steps 4 thru 6 for the 3D cell field.
  8. Click Save to save the changes. You will be prompted to save the component to the Components Center:
  9. Click Yes to display the following dialog:
  10. Enter the following information for the component:
    • Application - Select Bentley Raceway and Cable Management from the drop down list. This defines the application which the component will be associated with.
    • Catalog - Select the catalog from the list.
    • Component Name - Enter a unique name for the component.
    Note: Note that the options in the Application and Catalog list are specific to you organization and will reflect what was uploaded to the Component Center by the project administrator.
  11. Click OK to complete the creation process.
    When an equipment component is saved to the Components Center, the UDA values to the ComponentsCenterUDA.xml file located in the following location:

    ...\Configuration\Workspaces\%WorkSpace%\Standards\BRCM\std_dataset\equipment

    Note: Your CONNECT Client login must have been granted the proper upload permissions to upload content before you can save a new component to the Components Center.
